Myanmar's second largest city of
nowadays founded by King Mindon in 1857 was the capital city of the
last reigning dynasty of Konbaung Kings. Mandalay city is the centre
of Buddhist learning, Myanmar's arts and cultures with the life span
of nearly one hundred and fifty years. Many interesting edifices of
cultural and religious importance, Buddhist monasteries with beautiful
woodcarvings and masterpieces of Myanmar masonry remain standing.
Accordingly, it is the richest historical landmark next to Bagan.
Mandalay is also noted for exquisite handicraft such as hand-woven
embroidery, gold leaves making, wood and marble stone carving, silk
weaving, bronze casting and etc.......... |

Possibly the most impressive and the
richest archaeological sight in South East Asia was the capital of the
first unified empire of King Anawyahta in 849 AD. Numerous pagodas and
temples were built with the flourishing of Buddhism around 1057 AD.
Nowadays, the majorities of these well-preserved temples offer and
stand testimony to the rich architectural heritage of Myanmar from
11th to 13th centuries. Approximately 2,200 temples stretching as far
as the eye can see remain standing. Enjoy the amazing edifices,
panoramic view of Bagan and beautiful sunset over the mighty
Ayeyarwaddy River............ |

The famous Inle Lake is located in Shan State, about 30 km south of
Taunggyi, a city surrounded by haze blue mountain is 900 meters above sea-level. Every year the Paungdaw Oo Pagoda festival is held around the lake
areas and the visitors can also visit Kalaw, Pindaya cave. |

| Mrauk U, another ancient capital of the
Rakhine Kingdom (15th to 18th century) is only a 5 hours boat trip
along the Kaladan River from Sittwe. |

| The golden rock of Kyaikhtiyo known as
" The Golden Rock" is located 160 kilometers from Yangon.
An overwhelming sight, a gilded boulder, shaped like a hermit's head
is perched precariously on the edge of precipice, over 1100m above
sea-level. |

| Bago, situated 80 km northeast of
Yangon was the ancient capital of 14th to 16th century. The famous 55
meters long Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha and the reconstructed
Kanboza-Thadhi Palace are the highlights.

| Pyin Oo Lwin is located 60 km north-east of Mandalay and 1,100 meters above sea-level having a pleasantly cool weather all year round is also called the Floral City of Myanmar. |

| Pindaya is 1 hour 30 minutes by car
from Heho. An extensive limestone and picturesque lake. Inside the
famous Pindaya cave are 8,094 Buddha images made from alabaster,
teak, marble, brick lacquer and cement.

Mawlamyine is the capital of Mon State, situated at the
mouth of the Thanlwin River. Located 28 miles from the sea, it is the
second busiest seaport & third largest city in Myamar. There are many
pagodas and stupas in Mawlamyaine.
